Flying orb ball buying guide
Every flying orb listing makes the same four claims. These are the four things that actually differ, weighted the way we weight them in our ranking.
1. Return consistency (40%)
The one thing that decides whether the toy survives week one. Throw ten gentle underhand tosses in an open space and count how many come back within arm's reach. Six or more is good. Two or three means you bought a hovering ball.
2. Weight (20%)
Under about thirty grams, indoor play is a non-event. Above forty, it stops being casual. Weight also decides how forgiving the orb is when a beginner throws too hard.
3. Charge-to-flight ratio (20%)
Most orbs in this category deliver eight to ten minutes of flight from a twenty-five minute charge. What matters is whether the charge is short enough to fit inside a play session rather than ending it.
4. Cage density and support (20%)
Push a finger into a gap. If you reach a blade, it is not a toy for a six-year-old. Then check whether there is any support channel beyond a marketplace return window.
